University Place, Washington
Artisan breads, house-made pastries, and carefully sourced groceries — crafted daily at 1905 Bridgeport Way W.
Sweet Wheat opened its doors in University Place with a simple conviction: that bread should taste like bread — honest, slow-risen, and made from ingredients you can name. What began as a small operation has grown into a destination for people who care about what they eat.
Our bakery produces sourdough, laminated pastries, and seasonal breads throughout the day. Our grocery selection features locally milled flours, regional olive oils, and pantry staples we'd use in our own kitchen. Everything is chosen deliberately.
Sourdough, country loaves, and seasonal varieties — all cold-fermented for 24 hours or more.
Croissants, danishes, and laminated goods made from scratch each morning with French butter.
Locally milled flours, regional olive oils, specialty salts, and pantry essentials.
Locally roasted coffee, fresh juices, and warm beverages to pair with your selection.
We don't rush fermentation. We don't use improvers or emulsifiers to compensate for shortcuts. Every loaf, every pastry, every item in our grocery case meets a standard we'd set for our own table.
This means some days we sell out early. It means we turn down wholesale orders that would require compromising on process. It means our customers know exactly what they're getting — and they keep coming back.
